Stick Twists

Stick twists is an excellent addition to any abdominal exercise program, although you cannot lose weight or achieve your weight loss goals without dieting using a good fat burning diet program.  Stick twists is a perfect exercise for the obliques and intercostals (located at the sides of the waist and rib cage area).  The obliques and intercostals are the 2 most neglected abdominal muscles as opposed to the upper and lower abdominal muscles which get worked with almost any abdominal exercise.

Stick twists are performed by placing a broom stick across the shoulders while the hands lightly grip the stick for support with the feet shoulder width apart and held sturdy for support, but again, if you are looking to lose weight and burn fat then you should begin a good fat burning dieting program to achieve your weightloss goals.  Begin stick twists by slowly and deliberately twisting the upper body from side to side.  The key to stick twists is to flex the abdominal muscles with each twist so as to actually work the abdominal muscles, obliques and intercostals.
